City Council Meeting Update (May 15, 2006)

It was with great pride that the construction of Firestations 1 and 2 were unanimously approved by City Council. These new buildings will not only better and more efficiently protect the residents of the City of Parma, but will also signal the beginning of an era of growth and prosperity for our Safety Forces.

Additionally, congratulations to Parma's Citizen of the Month, Joan Kessler, who along with a group of dedicated volunteers runs the Parma Animal Shelter. Please visit their website at http://www.parmashelter.org/.

Lastly, remember the month of May is "Older Americans Month".

I am pleased to announce that this weekend and next week will be a busy one for events in Ward 3. I urge all residents to attend the Safety Fair this Saturday (April 22) from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Schaaf Community Center. This is a great event and will give children and families a chance to see our safety forces up close.

Additionally, a Learn to Skate event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Reis Rink in our Ward.

Lastly, this Thursday night (April 27) the Parma Democratic Party will be hosting its pre-election event at the VFW Hall on Woodrow Avenue at 7 p.m.

Remember, the Primary Election is May 2. Make sure you excercise your right to Vote, no matter what Party you belong! And please remeber to Vote YES for Issue 34 which will give Parma Residents an equal tax structure.

Also, on a personal note, please vote for my sister, LESLIE ANN CELEBREZZE, for Common Pleas Court Judge!
